Our Veterinary Support Staff

Deidre-Veterinary Assistant

Deidre has returned to the BHVH team!  She graduated from the University College of Cape Breton in December of 2004 with a business degree.  Shortly after graduating, she decided to dedicate her time to her passion - animals!  Throughout this time, she has worked in a number of small animal and emergency veterinary hospitals throughout Nova Scotia.  She currently resides in Enfield with her husband Blehr and their 3 cats and 2 dogs.  In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, and also visiting with relatives in Cape Breton.  She is dedicated to each and every pet parent and their four-legged companions.  She describes the best part of her job as 'getting to know the clients and their special pets and ensuring they are provided with all the information needed to keep their pet healthy for a long life!'

Rilla

Rilla was rushed in to us as a stray kitten by a good samaritan after being almost hit by a car.  She thanked us by giving most of the staff ringworm, and she 'grew on us' after that.  She now supervises the staff and greets clients.

 Kiley- Registered Veterinary Technician

Kiley is a registered veterinary technician, having graduated from the Dalhousie Agricultural Veterinary Technician program in May, 2019.  Her interests include anesthetic monitoring, dental care, and patient care within the hospital.  Kiley currently lives in Cole Harbour with her three cats Esme, Jasmine, and Kim.  In her spare time, she enjoys hiking in beautiful Nova Scotia with her boyfriend Avi and loves to spend her time around a fire at night with friends.  She loves sharing in the lives of all her patients and clients at Bedford Highway Veterinary Hospital.

Brenda

As the accountant here at Bedford Highway Veterinary I have the distinction of meeting our furry clients. I love this opportunity, as each and every animal is very special.  As a child growing up, I always wanted to work in a veterinary hospital but instead chose finance as my designation.  Now I get to do both of the things I love.

I came to the clinic in June of 2005 and have been an employee for 13 years now.  The staff members here are the best.

In my spare time I love to camp, swim in our new pool, read and am an avid volunteer with Kin Canada (Kinsmen and Kinettes). I am married to Wade and have two children Steven and Nicholas. We have one beloved cat Kiddy who we adopted in 2007.
