Pet Wellness Examinations

Did you know that one of the most important things you can do for your beloved pet is to have them examined regularly?  Pets age much faster than we do and a lot can happen in a year.   Wellness examinations allow us to detect problems early and intervene to keep your pet healthy.  

Young healthy pets should be examined at least yearly.  Mature adults over 7 and seniors should come in at least twice a year.  Remember, one human year equals 7 or 8 years for our furry friends!

In addition to a comprehensive physical exam, we will discuss your pet's lifestyle, behavior, nutrition, and parasite control.  Part of the discussion will be which immunizations are recommended for his/her lifestyle.

Vaccinations

Vaccines save lives!!   Immunizations given at appropriate intervals are a critical part of overall pet health.  We follow internationally recognized guidelines from the American Animal Hospital Association and the American Association of Feline Practitioners.  

Vaccines for dogs include Canine Distemper, Adenovirus, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus, Rabies, Bordetella, Leptospirosis, and Lyme disease.  We will discuss which vaccines are appropriate for your dog and recommended vaccine intervals.

Vaccines for cats include feline Panleukopenia, Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Feline Leukemia, and Rabies.  Whether your cat stays inside or goes outside is an important factor in deciding which vaccines are appropriate.
